Any one been out to pine gully? I've been working right next to pine gully for the past two weeks. Your batteries are wired in series to obtain 24 volt but you can still use the two batteries independent at the same time, so use one battery or the other or both for droplights or whatever.  I personally leave all my other accessories on my starting battery as to not run down my trolling motor batteries but if you don't use your trolling motor a lot you may want to do it different. I have run my starting battery down at night before but my starting cables will reach my trolling batteries so no problem.

Trout action Saturday was a little slow due to the rains and lighting.  I was not able to get out on the water until 6:30 am.  Fishing this past week has been pretty good early during the incoming tide and just as good in the afternoon during the out going tide.  I have had some really nice boxes of trout 15-20 around an average of 3lbs.  This past week I have had a new trout leader Tallbert of Austin, Texas with a trout of 26 inches and 5.6lbs.  Nice job Tallbert!!! Clap

You can wire a 12v acc. plug to each battery if you need it. I have one on each battery and use them for spotlights and an aerator. Install an inline fuse to protect your motor if something shorts out. I would also recommend the onboard charger for all of your batteries. Go to the minnkota web site and see if they have any rebates available. my start and acc. are on the same batt. what I am afaid of is running my start batt down at night runnin lights to fish with. i fish all night at lake Liveingston with drop lights in the water. Is there anyway to hook the 12 acc to the same batts that i amuseing for my trolling motor. i wont be useing it at night. I think you are right about the mk being the better motor.

Well If I understand your Question right , It's a simple solution, Get to new deep cycle batt. and hook them up in series and leave your start /Acc. batterys alone. Thats how mines rigged. Also I suggest you get a on board charger for yo Trolling motor. Sure makes it nice just hook up the Extention cord and go. One more suggestion is stay away from motor guide for saltwater. I used to be a big fan of there stuff growing up and thought they where better than Minn Kota, but over the years MK has made lot better advancements and there trolling motor will out last MG in salt.
