I was out this morning with a party of 4- Mr. Keene his two sons and 6 year old granddaughter. We headed out this morning from the dock around 6:30 and headed straight our first spot. There was a little fog in the area but not too bad. I made my first stop and The Keene family was getting after it right off the bat. For the first 20 min, they picked up 10 trout and Else the 6 year old caught here very first trout 16 inches she said KEEPER. She had never been fishing in the bay, here father is an off shore fisherman and she has gone out with him. She had the talk and could back it up, she ended up with about 7 trout to 21 inches. Back to the 20 minuets a boat pulled in and parked his boat right where my party was casting. I was not happy, but we made a move and headed to a few more spots after casting another 30 min. and did not pick up a single fish. All in all the day was good We ended up with 23 trout and 1 red and the Keene family will have some great memories.  Sunday, November 02, 2008
Well fishing is at its best with near to full limits of trout and reds in both Galveston and Trinity Bay. We have had a great fall start despite what Hurricane Ike did to us at the end of summer. We have had trout to 4 lbs and slot reds to 8 lbs being caught for the past few weeks. We are going to have the best fall and winter fishing this year. We have had light a variable winds before and after each front, which has allowed the water to get right. We have lots of bait in our bay system right now, which have made the fish go into a feeding frenzy. This gets the birds going; the birds will find the bait that the fish are pushing up off the bottom to the surface. There have been flocks of birds that would be able to take up a whole football field. I still have some weekend dates in both November and December, give me a call or email me back to get in on some of this great fishing. Guys don’t forget that the day after Thanksgiving while the ladies are out shopping you can be out on the water fishing.

This morning I had Gloria and Lisa out on a fun day on the water. We started our day off with Gloria getting into the boat and getting over her fear of boating. With winds out of the Southeast at 15-20 knots maid it interesting. She did great after making a 15 minuet boat ride we started with our first drift. As I showed Gloria and Lisa how to cast before I could open my mouth the Cajun Thunder was down under the surface. Gloria was reeling in the first fish of the day. I then showed them how to cast and pop the Cajun Thunder, I casted Lisa’s out and she had a fish on in no time. We then had a tuff time finding the fish for awhile; we did pick up several small ones. After about 2 ½ hours we found some more trout, the ladies did a great job and ended up with a nice box of fish. I still have a few days open the rest of this month if you want to get out on the water. Give me a call to book your trip today!!!

Another great day on the water this morning with Richard, Cory and Michael. I was able to put in this morning at Thompson’s Bait Camp. We had a East wind that helped bring the water back into the bay. Cory and Michel was giving Richard a hard time after the first few drifts. Cory and Michel were picking up some trout and Richard was not. Richard was saying it’s not over till it’s over. Then Cory picked up a nice 3lb trout. Well after a few drifts it was time for Richard to go to work. Richard ended up picking up a 3lb trout to go with his other 5 or 6. Richard stopped all that talking for Cory and Michael. Never the lass that had a great time out on the water this morning.

Today was a lot of fun with dad Larry and 9 year old daughter Natalie and grandpa. We were not able to launch the boat at Thompson’s Bait camp due to the very low water. We ended up putting in at another boat launch and maid our way to the fish. I had a great time watching Natalie put it on her Dad and Grandpa. Natalie started with one and ended up with several nice trout before the day was all over. All fish were caught on live shrimp under the mighty Cajun Thunder in about 3 feet of water that would normally be about 5-6 feet deep.

Back out on the water this morning with Mr. and Mrs. Jones of Dallas. We started this morning with Mrs. Jones fighting a Big Ugly that was a good 45lbs and after about 10 minuets and Mrs. Jones saying I need help and myself and her husband saying your almost there. She brought in that big fish all by herself. Nice job Mrs. Jones!!! We picked up a nice box of trout to 4lbs. on both live shrimp and artificial baits. Most trout were caught when the tide started moving in. I still have a few days open this month, give me a call to book you spring and summer trips, summer trips are going fast.

This morning I was able to take fishing Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer (Oma & Opa) from Highlands, Texas. We took off out of the Marina and found nothing but dirty water, so we maid a little run to find better water and some trout. Well we found some better looking water with some protection from the wind. We maid several drifts over a shell bottom and picked up a really nice box of fish. Opa picked up a nice 3.1 lbs trout, he is the current second quarter leader of the Big Trout Leader Board. We had a great time out on the Bay, give me a call to book your spring or summer trip.

On the water this morning with Jason, Rick and Dick. From the very first cast to the last these three were giving each other a hard time in how many fish each other had. And who had the biggest fish. As Jason took the early lead on the first fish, after about two hours Dick took the lead. But it was not long before Richard turned on the light switch and started smoking both Dick and Jason. When it was all over Richard had not just taken the lead but had the most trout at the end of the day. It was a fun and productive day on the water. The trout were caught all morning in several different areas. We were fishing in 3-5 feet of water with both live shrimp and artificials. We had a few trout under the Cajun Thunder with a D.O.A. under it. Nice job there guys see you all this summer.

This past week has been nice with some really nice fish caught. We have had some nice trout and reds all caught on live shrimp under the Cajun Thunder in water from 3-5 feet, on day they are in shallow and the next day they are a little deeper. With this weak front moving thru this afternoon fishing should be great this weekend.
